2face Idibia’s biggest influence in life
2face Idibia has come a long way in the music industry with a career spanning about 2 decades. He is currently one of Africa’s biggest entertainment exports to the global stage having won different major awards from the MTV EMA to the World Music Awards, BET to MOBO. He has also done collaborations with major international acts from R Kelly to Wyclef, Bennie Man to Chakademus and Pliers but not many know what this emerging legend’s biggest influence is.
While he is motivated by 3 late musical icons, Michael Jackson, Bob Marley and Fela Anikulapo Kuti, the biggest influence in the life of 2face however is his late father, Pa Michael Idibia who passed on in August 2014.
‘My dad is my biggest influence. He was hilarious and he was the kindest human being I met in life. He was just a peaceful man.’
Michael Idibia, a native of Benue was born on July 25, 1946. He worked for the Benue State Ministry of Agriculture until he retired. Married to Rose, he was blessed with 4 boys.
