Dear Make up artists, keep up your great job of making Ladies beautiful.

Appearance is a vital factor in a person's life. On a daily basis people perform the same routine to make their appearance more attractive. After waking up they brush their teeth, wash their face, style their hair, apply their makeup and the list goes on. Because of people's superficial values of wanting to look better to the public, applying makeup seems to be the most important factor. It's almost as if makeup becomes a part of them. It is a mask that is applied to enhance their true identity. Not only is it used to enhance our looks, but it is also used diversely throughout the entertainment industry.
Makeup is greatly used in theatres. Have you ever gone to a theatre production? Believe it or not, every actor on that stage is wearing tons of makeup. The makeup the performers are wearing is called stage makeup. Stage makeup is only found in costume boutiques, or selected liberal arts shops. This makeup is a little on the expensive side, and arduous to find a legitimate match for your complexion. It is not noticeable from the audience's point of view, but that's the key; it's is not supposed to. According to high school drama teacher, Rosa Bravo, "Stage makeup is designed to over exaggerate the human features. She goes on to say, "It creates the illusion that the actors' faces appear normal from the audience's point of view. From personal experience, if during a production a performer had regular makeup, then their face would look blurry. Because the stage lights are so bright, it tends to wash out the face making it look as if you don't have one. Therefore, this makeup is only to be used during stage performances
